Cyrus Hosmer

Cyrus Hosmer

January 1775

I am Cyrus, a son of Joseph Hosmer, and I am 10 years old.. I live on a farm in Cambridge Farms. Our house has a kitchen in the back of the main room. I sleep in the back of the main room, in the left corner. Our house has three windows.

I can smell the apple butter being made. You peel the apples then you take the core out of the apple. You cut the apple into four pieces. You squash the apples. And you cook them a long time with cider. You take a knife and spread it on the cracker then you eat the cracker. It taste sweet and sour. It taste like apples and like cinnamon.

Spring in Colonial Times
Oh, no Spring is here
I have to milk
I have to work
A lot of work for a 10 year old boy
I wish my name wasn't Cyrus Hosmer
I wouldn't have to do all this work
Koh-hoo, the birds are back
the grass is green
swimming frogs are leaping
Feels like Spring to me.
