Dinah Hosmer

I am Dinah Hosmer, Joseph's sister. I am 35 years of age. I was born in 1739. I live with Joseph and his wife, Lucy. I help Lucy with the work and help her bring up the children.

Only seven more days 'til the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. I will never forget that night with all of it's excitement.
When Joseph came home he told us there were a few people in their teens, a bunch of middle aged people, and a handful over forty who all went to Griffin's Wharf. They broke the padlock and the chests with tea in them. They dumped the tea into the harbour. They were disguised as Native Americans because they wanted to show the people from England that they were peaceful and intended no halm.

Captain John Conner was caught with tea in his pockets. They took off his garments and beat him. The King was outraged. For a punishment he sent word that ships could not go in and out of Boston

You know the Sons of Liberty met at the Green Dragon Tavern near Mill Pond. That's where they made all their plans.

At the Old South Meetinghouse is where Samuel Adams gave his speeches.

Since then we realize that we cannot do anything peacefully with England. The Militia is training on the common right now. They have been training since last year. I hope there won't be trouble. I'll have to wait and see.
