It Doesn't Matter

My hair is brown like a chocolate cake

And my hair is dirty-blonde like the sun behind the moon.

But we don't care about that!

Your eyes are blue like a cloudless sky

And your eyes a brown like the bark on a old, oak tree.

But why should that matter?

My shirt is orange like newly fallen fall leaves

And my shirt is purple like freshly picked grapes.

But what does that matter?

It doesn't matter

If you're as dark as an oak tree or as light as a cloud.

It doesn't matter

If you're as skinny as a pencil or as tall as a tree.

It doesn't matter if it's you-

or me.

We'll be friends forever, as you can clearly see!
