The Third Grade Social Studies Curriculum centers on American History from the Colonial Period to the present. To help students grasp what day-to-day life was like for young people during the Colonial Era, teachers at Hastings developed a three day long hands-on "Colonial Crafts Workshop". Here the students benefit by experiencing immersion in some of the art forms once practiced by Colonial Era children. Each year these special activities are remembered by many students as one of the highlights of their Third Grade year!
