Dear David,
Thank you for contacting Nintendo for your class project. I appreciate having this opportunity to address your concerns.
In your letter, you suggested that we should make more video games that include Negro League baseball players. I can certainly understand your desire to see some of these great baseball players in one of our games.
As you can probably guess, we receive many fantastic suggestions each month from our fans. While it would be great if we could use these ideas to develop actual products, we are unable to use or pass along any unsolicited ideas. Developing new products requires a large investment of both time and money and our in-house developers are going to be busy for several years on the projects they already have undertaken.
At this time, we have not heard of any plans to produce a game featuring Negro League players. However, you never know what the future might hold. Keep checking our website (www.nintendo.com) and future issues of Nintendo Power magazine for the latest information on current and upcoming games.
I also wanted to let you know that although we don't use the specific ideas we receive, we do track what kinds of products our players would like to see developed. The best way to let us know what games you like is to enter Nintendo Power magazine's Player's Poll contest. Each month, entrants list their five favorite games for each system. The results from the Player's Poll entries are then used to figure out our reader's favorite games.
Thanks again for writing, David. I hope that you continue to enjoy Nintendo products. Good luck with all your games.
Sincerely,
Nintendo of America, Inc.
