Teamwork

At Sargent Camp, there were many important lessons to learn. One of the most important things was teamwork. I’d say that a good part of the trip was learning about teamwork. Another purpose of the trip was to have fun. The last part was getting to know other people. As you can guess, it was a pretty good trip. But out of the three things I just listed, the most important thing was teamwork.

At Sargent Camp they teach you all about teamwork. While you’re at Sargent Camp you learn that almost nothing is possible without teamwork. Even the smallest everyday things are hard to do without teamwork. For example, a soccer game needs teamwork as you can probably guess. Many other things need teamwork too. There are multiple parts that lead up to teamwork, so I’ll talk about them. They are trust, patience, communication, and sharing ideas.

Without trust teamwork wouldn’t work. You have to trust that other people can always help and than together you can do just about anything. Another thing about trust is that you should trust that the people you are working with will be there for you.

Without communication teamwork yet again wouldn’t work. Communication adds many things to teamwork. You have to be able to listen and to be able to make clear explanations. Without communications you wouldn’t be able to share ideas. Sharing ideas is important. It is clear we need it so we are not clueless and if one thing fails then we can always try another.

Patience is also valuable. It may be hard to accomplish a task that is laid before you, but need patience. If no team had patience you would never follow through in anything. People would be dropping out every few minutes, and without everyone’s talents you couldn’t get anywhere.

There are many ways to describe teamwork. But my favorite way is a recipe. You need the ingredients that happen to be…

Teamwork
2 doses trust
2 doses communication
1 dose of sharing ideas
10 doses of patience

Each ingredient is important. You need just the right amount too. It’s like baking a cake. If you have the wrong amount of something or leave something out, it won’t work. The only difference from the recipe for a cake is that teamwork is a more natural recipe and it is needed everyday.

Over all teamwork was very important at Sgt. Camp. We couldn’t have done it without teamwork. I will always remember how important teamwork was at Sgt. Camp.
