Working Well Together
When we were on the bus to Sgt. Camp I could not wait to get there. When we finally arrived at Sgt. Camp I got so excited to finally be there. I was sitting next to my friends Michelle and Heather. They kept on asking when we could get off the bus.
The first thing we did when we got there was find our bags Then we found our cabins. My cabins name was Cather. We had 90 girls in our cabin. I shared a bunk with Stacy, Heather and Michelle. In our bunk one thing we worked well together on was cleaning up the room after we unpacked. As soon as we got settled in we went to eat lunch, but before that we had to go into a room that was next to the lunch room and got introduced to all the instructors. Then they called out the groups, and which instructor you had. My instructors name was Stephanie. Shes very nice.
The next activity after lunch was retail detail. That really didnt have a lot to do with working well with each other. The one I think that had to do with working well with each other was the chocolate river. You had to get across a certain point by using big square tiles. But you had to step on it immediately or else it would float away, eventually we all got across. We finished with only 1 board left.
The next day we went to the ropes coarse. Not only our group went. We went with Chris group and Alices group. We all had to pick partners. It could be from your group, or the other groups. My partners name was Bridget. There were I think 3 ways you could start the ropes coarse. The 2 cargo nets and a wooden bridge. We chose a cargo net, but I wanted to do the wooden bridge. I had a bad knee going into this. When Bridget and I went up the cargo net my knee twisted when we were going up again, that's how I sprained my knee in the first place. So I went back down and I went over to where the Zip line was. I saw all the people going down and I wished I hadnt sprained my knee in the first place, last year in soccer.
After the Ropes Coarse we had dinner. After that we went and did some more trusting activities. On the ropes coarse you really had to work as a team because you might have fallen or something like that. If you fell it would be ok because you would have a harness on, but it would be kind of hard to get back up to where you were. About 4 in and half hrs later we had to go into our cabins and get ready for bed. We had the furthest to walk.
The final day when we woke up and started packing we all were really sad because we had to leave in about 6 in a half hrs right after lunch. When we got onto the road we were on our way to breakfast.
After breakfast we went over to a section with a lot of trees, there was a grass area in between the trees. We did some activities with compasses there that I guess was pretty fun. It seemed like just 45 min ago we had breakfast when it had been more than 2 hrs. Then the lunch bell rang, it was time for lunch. Lunch that day seemed as if it was just a half hr. Then it was time to leave, every body was so sad that we had to go, I know I was. Pretty soon the buses started moving. Everybody had their windows open saying good bye. About 1 hr 45 min later we were back at school. All the parents were there to pick their children up. I got a ride home from Heathers mom. When I got home I was some what happy to be home but yet still sad.
