Week Five - The Painting Continues...

As you will notice, the Story Gardens Mural is really starting to take shape. This week, grades 2 - 5 got their chance to add their artistic impressions to the mural.
Teachers and parent volunteers have been amazed by the students' abilities to choose and mix effective colors.
Incorporated into the mural is a bench that spans the length of the library/lobby wall. It will represent a river, full of whimsical critters.
On Wednesday, the Boston Globe and Lexington Minuteman newspapers stopped by to take pictures!
When asked, "What do you think is the best part of the Story Gardens Mural Project?"...
"I like the way the library doors are going to open up like a book."
"I like the different colors of all the people."
"I can't wait to paint again. Maybe I'll paint over at the library doors next time."
Perhaps the most insightful comment of the day was from this young man who said, "The best part is that everyone's coming together to paint this mural."
Come back next week when the Kindergarteners will have their chance to share their talent!
