What is ACT?

ACT stands for Arts Created Together, a group of parent and teacher volunteers who work to bring visual, performing, and creative arts to Hastings’ to enhance the school curriculum for all students. ACT programs include special assemblies, artist residencies, author visits, and much more!

 In 2005-2006 ACT brought students:

§              Picasso People, a dynamic one man show exploring the life and work of Pablo Picasso

§       A week-long artist-in-residence program with yoga instructor Tara Carey during PE classes

§       A performance of international folktales by theater troupe Sun Ergos

§       A week-long musician-in-residence program with Appalachian folk musician and opera singer Adam Klein

§       The publication of Hastings’ Voices and Visions, a school-wide anthology of students’ creative writing and artwork

ACT has many exciting programs in the works for the 2006-2007 school year, all of which are made possible by your support of the Walk for the Arts. The Walk is the major source of ACT funding for the year.
