This site represents selected resources of the history of art. For the most part this consists of links to other sites on the World Wide Web. They are organized by selected civilizations and periods, for simplicity sake, yet still allowing for diversity, including ancient and non-European civilizations.
This web page is used to facilitate Hastings' Visual Art Program, particularly the 5th grade "Discovering Art Through the Ages" unit. It is a discipline-based, internet inclusion component. The unit involves virtual field trips throughout the search in our computer lab, with an actual trip to Boston's Museum of Fine Arts at its culmination. Internet usage changes and enhances how we learn, how the students think. Its effectiveness depends on "the information super-highway" which reaches all the senses, and can easily be adapted to the variety of individual learning styles.
I attempt to maintain this site and welcome correspendence and notification of any broken links or additional worthwhile sites.
